Privacy policy

What we collect
- Account details — name, email address, phone number, country and city, plus any business name or biography you choose to add.
- Listing content — the gemstone specifications, descriptions and photographs you upload.
- Enquiries — the name, email, phone, country, offer and message you submit when registering interest in a stone.
- Technical data — IP address and timestamps recorded in our activity log for security purposes.
- Cookies — a single session cookie to keep you signed in, and an optional "remember me" cookie if you ask for one. We do not run third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To operate your account and publish your listings.
- To broker transactions — which necessarily means sharing the details required to complete a deal with the other party, once a deal is agreed.
- To send transactional email: listing approval, enquiry notifications, deal confirmations, password resets.
- To protect the marketplace from fraud and abuse.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not publish buyer or seller contact details on the site. We do not share your information with anyone other than the counterparty to an agreed transaction, our payment and shipping providers, and any authority we are legally obliged to disclose it to.
How long we keep it
Account and listing data are kept while your account is open. Records of completed transactions are retained for as long as required by Sri Lankan tax and trade law. You can ask us to delete your account and personal data at any time, subject to those retention obligations.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your personal data, or ask for a copy of it, by contacting us. Most details can be edited directly from your profile page.
Security
Passwords are stored using one-way hashing and are never visible to us or recoverable in plain text. Forms are protected against cross-site request forgery, and uploaded images are re-encoded on the server to strip embedded metadata. No system is perfect, but we take this seriously.
